چکیده
Equitable distribution of water is a growing source worry, and concerns systems’ managers as water-stressed areas steadily increase situations scarcity are becoming more frequent. The problem goes beyond just the sector globally affects many countries’ economies since resources have multiple uses (i.e., power generation, irrigation, etc.). One various strategies to overcome periods extreme events (e.g., scarcity) adoption intermittent operation. Intermittent operation can minimize losses, manages supply same demand (in terms volume) during reduced period time. However, despite minimizing energy consumption necessary cope with increased flows head loss, due number operating hours, increases. This paper explores strategy based on rehabilitation system’s main pipes. It also considers optimal selection scheduling pumps aiming at improving hydraulic parameters velocity losses) reducing costs. Both resizing pipes optimized using Particle Swarm Optimization. obtained results show that this significantly reduce consumed be economically feasible.

A Bi-Level Optimization Approach for Optimal Operation of Distribution Networks with Retailers and Micro-grids
Distributed energy resources (DERs) including distributed generators (DGs) and controllable loads (CLs) are managed in the form of several microgrids (MGs) in active distributions networks (ADNs) to meet the demand locally. On the other hand, some loads of distribution networks (DNs) can be supplied by retailers which participate in wholesale energy markets. Therefore, there are several decisio...

Using Jumping Particle Swarm Optimization for Optimal Operation of Pump in Water Distribution Networks
Carefully scheduling the operations of pumps can be resulted to significant energy savings. Schedules can be defined either implicit, in terms of other elements of the network such as tank levels, or explicit by specifying the time during which each pump is on/off. In this study, two new explicit representations based on timecontrolled triggers were analyzed, where the maximum number of pump sw...
متن کاملOptimizing Intermittent Water Supply in Urban Pipe Distribution Networks
In many urban areas of the developing world, piped water is supplied only intermittently, as valves direct water to different parts of the water distribution system at different times. The flow is transient, and may transition between free-surface and pressurized, resulting in complex dynamical features with important consequences for water suppliers and users. Here, we develop a computational ...
متن کاملChemical Water Stability in Optimal Operation of Water Distribution Systems with Blended Desalinated Water
This work presents a model for the inclusion of chemical water stability in optimizing the operation of water distribution systems. When desalinated water is mixed with surface water and/or groundwater, the blend can become chemically unstable. Such a state can cause the phenomena of “red water,” an increase in corrosion rates, and a reduction in disinfection efficiency. In this study, a method...
